ABYSA’s FUNdamental Soccer Camp offers a games-centered teaching approach to soccer education, creating an exciting and entertaining environment designed to boost player learning. The FUNdamentals teaching method is designed to enrich players’ passion for soccer while teaching them the proper techniques for future soccer success. Campers will be placed in proper age groups and skill levels to ensure all players benefit from developmentally appropriate activities, teaching, and competition. The camp will employ games designed to build technical foundations for dribbling, passing, receiving, shielding, and shooting. Older age groups (11-14 year olds) will also be exposed to individual and small group tactical implications of the game. Full and half days available.

Spring break camp is a five day camp and runs from 9am-4pm Monday, April 6th, through Friday, the 10th.The camp takes place on our purpose built bike park loaded with pump tracks, skills features, dirt jump lines, and miles of singletrack, a great place to warm back up for the season of riding ahead. The goal of the camp is to make sure campers have a strong foundation of skills on the bike, and to build confidence to improve upon those skills.

Spring Break Basketball Camp

For girls and boys ages 7-12 and 13-15. Sharpen your skills during spring break at the Asheville Parks & Recreation Spring Break Basketball Camp! Improve your fundamental, offensive, defensive, and team play skills. We offer players the focused, intensive training that is essential to improvement. We are confident that basketball players of all abilities will leave with increased self-esteem, new friends, and more passion for the game.

Youth filmmakers will complete the making of a short film from concept to completion in just 3 days! Students will gain experience in filmmaking and become exposed to the various career opportunities available in the film industry. Find out if filmmaking is right for them! Students will direct, shoot, and edit a short 3-5 minute script of the group’s choosing. They will gain valuable experience in the various areas of filmmaking with professional guidance using high quality equipment. Cost of the course is $225, and includes access to all equipment. A $50 deposit received 2 weeks prior to class will guarantee placement.

This is a super fun climbing program for first-time climbers and younger climbers who are still exploring the sport. Each day begins with a fun-filled morning of climbing exercises and games. For the first four days climbing skills will be taught and practiced and then the second half of the day will be spent at another activity downtown; either making pottery, playing in the park, or visiting AMOS. The final day of this camp is spent outdoors on real rock. Daily snacks and transportation to the rock site are provided. Daily lesson plans are developed and created for the group. This is a very fun introduction to rock climbing.
