Asheville area parents! This guide to spring break camps is a WORKING LIST, and is NOT complete. We felt is was important to release as soon as possible since some camps released their schedules early, with discounts that you can only take advantage of before a set deadline. Other camps have not released their dates yet, and will announce their schedules in the coming weeks. If you see a “NOT ANNOUNCED YET” next to “2019 DATES”, the information you see is from their 2018 season, and will be updated to 2019 as soon as they make an announcement with that information. Keep that in mind, and use this guide as a guide for what’s POSSIBLE as an option for your child, this spring. We will continuously keep updating this list, so keep checking back!

ABYSA’s FUNdamental Soccer Camp offers a games-centered teaching approach to soccer education, creating an exciting and entertaining environment designed to boost player learning.  The FUNdamentals teaching method is designed to enrich players’ passion for soccer while teaching them the proper techniques for future soccer success. Campers will be placed in proper age groups and skill levels to ensure all players benefit from developmentally appropriate activities, teaching, and competition. The camp will employ games designed to build technical foundations for dribbling, passing, receiving, shielding, and shooting. At the Kolo Spring Break Mountain Bike Camp, campers will ride on purpose-built mountain bike trails and skill elements designed for all levels of rider to experience flow on a bicycle. Kolo Bike Park is a great way for young riders to build confidence and skill in a controlled environment. Indoor activities such as bicycle movies and games on bad weather days. The camp is for kids age 8-15 years who can comfortably ride a two-wheel bicycle. Some off-road experience is recommended but not required.

Spring Break RPG camp! Kids 9 and older are invited to spend the day on a 2 acre family homestead “Adventuring” via the Roleplaying Game (RPG) Pathfinder (the newest evolution of legendary RPG Dungeons & Dragons). We are located 2 miles from the intersection of Patton and Haywood in West Asheville. We’ll let their imaginations run wild while they do! Experiential learning through Cartography, Math, Language Arts and Storytelling all come into play with this RPG, and kids exercise their social skills in group decision making and strategic thinking. Our facilitators aim to infuse content with learning opportunities in nature studies and ecocentric thought. Excursions to the woods around the homestead lend themselves to the storytelling value of the game and there will be time for free play/lunch/snack breaks and visits with the farm animals of FELC. Healthy snacks are provided but send a bag lunch. Work Trade opportunities are available!
