June 13: Sewing 101: Fabric, thread, fun
This class will go over the basics of sewing, from setting up your sewing machine to fabric and thread choice. We will experiment with different fabrics, stitches, and threads, and will make a simple project by the end of class.
June 20: Sewing with knits: Make a t-shirt
Explore the difference between two basic types of fabric (knits and wovens), and learn the basics of how to sew with knit fabrics. Then, we will make a simple t-shirt to fit you! (Bring your favorite t-shirt to class.)
June 27: Re-purpose, reuse, redesign, repair: Sew something new
You know you have those pants that are too long, or a shirt you want to change, or a pillowcase you want to make into something else. In this class, we will work on those projects to help you design something new. Bring your project to class!
