May 16th-31st – The Waynesville Kiwanis Club needs your help to win a $25,000 grant for “special needs” playground equipment in the upcoming Kiwanis International “Legacy of Play Playground” contest. The prize would help the Waynesville Parks & Recreation Department build their new “Inclusive Playground” for children of all abilities. “Currently, families with special needs children must drive to Knoxville, Morganton or Spartanburg to enjoy an “inclusive playground.” The inclusive playground addition to the Kiwanis Community Playground will allow families in our community and surrounding counties with special needs children to enjoy an appropriate play area that has playground equipment for children with all abilities.”
