Photography Class (11-18yrs)
100 Jackson Park Rd
Hendersonville, NC 28792
USA
Wednesday evenings, Aug, 16, 23 and 30 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
The Camera Club of Hendersonville (CCoH) is offering a Photography Class for youth ages 11 – 18. One goal is to help youth learn the features of their cameras and how they work. Another goal is for youth to understand more about photography and learn how to take exceptional photographs that they will treasure and be proud to share with others.
The Photography Class will be held at the NC Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center in Jackson Park (across from the ball fields) on Wednesday evenings, Aug, 16, 23 and 30 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. There is no charge for the class, but pre-registration is required, and several forms will need to be filled out prior to the start of the class. Space is limited and will fill on a first-come, first served basis.
This class is open to the public and all eligible youth are invited to participate, including 4-H members, Scouts and friends. Part of each session will be in the classroom, learning about composition, lighting and perspective, etc. The remainder of the class will be small group photo shoots, with each group led by CCoH volunteers, so everyone can get hands-on experience with their cameras.
Youth will have some assignments each week and be expected to shoot photographs between classes. They will bring their images in on a memory card or jump drive to share with the group. CCoC leaders will critique images to show both positive aspects and how the image might be improved.
At the conclusion of the classes, CCoH will sponsor a Photography Contest for class participants, with winners receiving cash prizes. For more details about the Photography Class, and for registration and release forms, click here.
