Bent Creek Toddler Ramble, Hardtimes Trailhead group hike
We will meet at the Hard Times Trailhead and follow the forest service road towards Lake Powhatan. It is mostly flat and easy enough for little walkers. This is a toddler-led hike, and also stroller-friendly. Although there is a 2(ish) mile loop, we will most likely do an out and back–depends on the kiddos.
Take 191 South from Asheville. Turn right on Bent Creek Ranch Rd (follow the signs to Bent Creek) and then a slight left on Wesley Branch. The trailhead is on the left.
Come on out and let your wee ones play in the woods!

Asheville Orchid Festival
April 1st – 2nd 2023 9:00am – 5:00pm
World-class orchid growers and breeders along with regional orchid societies will exhibit at this annual show by the Western North Carolina Orchid Society, with hundreds of orchids presented in carefully crafted displays.
Orchids will be for sale by vendors from Ecuador and across the United States. Attendees should expect rare species, cutting-edge hybrids and something for all orchid lovers. All festival exhibits, programs and educational lectures each day are included. Admission to the festival is $5 per person in addition to the Arboretum’s parking fee. Children 12 and under, free.
About the Western North Carolina Orchid Society
The WNCOS, a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, formed in 1962 and is an affiliate of the American Orchid Society. Our mission is to share the excitement and joy of cultivating orchids, and to promote orchid conservation. The Asheville Orchid Festival is the highlight of our annual calendar, and we invite everyone to join us in the celebration of orchids. WNCOS generally meets on the second Sunday of each month at the Asheville Visitor Center, located at 36 Montford Ave. Asheville, NC 28801. All orchid lovers are welcome to attend our meetings, which usually begin at 2 PM and are free and open to the public. No experience is necessary, just an appreciation for orchids and a desire to learn more about them! For more information, please visit www.wncos.org.
