The Anything That Floats Parade is where people from all walks of life come and express their creativity on the river. Teams work together to create all sorts of river vessels; some simple, some elaborate, some made from recycled materials, and others made with lots of flair. The sky is the limit, as long as it floats. The whole parade is hosted during the annual RiverFest Music Festival at New Belgium where people can watch the floats go by from the liquid center deck.
Teams that are interested in building a float and joining the parade can visit riverlink.org/afp to register.
Teams will start their journey from Hominy Creek River Park and float down to the dock at the Craven St Bridge. People will be able to view the parade from many of the beautiful greenways and parks along Amboy Rd. and Riverside Dr. as well as the Liquid Center deck at New Belgium. Float teams and parade viewers are encouraged to stick around at New Belgium for RiverLink’s Annual RiverFest concert which goes from 1-8PM.

Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art. When people look slowly at an artwork, they make discoveries. One day each year, people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at one or a few artworks and talk about their experience. That’s it. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing.
Over the years RiverMusic has brought thousands of people down to the banks of the French Broad River to enjoy live music, local beer, food, and sunsets over the third oldest river in the world. The proceeds from the events go to support our on the ground work throughout the community. RiverMusic is presented in partnership by River Link, New Belgium Brewing, and 98.1 The River with special thanks to Stage Sponsor Prestige Subaru.

“The Public Access Center for the Obvious Presents: The Situation” is a new work written and directed by founder Peter Schumann. This musical and dark clown-show features cardboard horses, an anti-extinction angel, proletariat broom dancers, a 100 watt lightbulb, a ship of fools, and a swinging brass band: all of whom are urging the Not-Yet-Existing-Upriser-M
This show is appropriate for all ages, but may be more interesting for children ages 10 and up.
