Expedition Night and Open House
Please join us! This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to see first-hand how Learning Through Expeditions, our curricular model, encourages critical thinking in all disciplines. Our students will be showcasing their work in each classroom, presenting what they have learned, as well as the process of their learning.
Expedition Night is also open to the general public including perspective families seeking the “right” program for their child. Please feel free to invite friends and family that may have an interest in our school to tag along and see what makes The Mountain Community School a special place.

Youth Firearm Safety Class
“Come on down and join us folks: Now is the time to have your children attend our FREE gun safety class this Saturday. This is horrible trend that continues to happen and we can prevent this. Our precious children are being shot by “playing” with guns or just having a tragic accident happen to them. Would your kids know what to do when they come in contact with a gun? Or maybe they just need to hear the rules of gun safety from someone other than their parents? We all know that they tend to listen more when someone else talks to them about things.”
Pre-registration required.
This is a FREE class offered by Overwatch Defense to teach children the basics of firearm safety and what to do when they encounter a firearm in the home or anywhere else they may be at.
6-15 years is the basic age the class is geared for but younger or older children are welcome. When we split up in small groups we do so by age so we talk to different groups at their levels. We have had 4 year olds and 17 year olds and had positive results.
