Come Check Out one of the First – Housing First Model Transitional Living Home in NC for Boys. After months of getting everything complete to open. We are waiting the community to come check it out. The Event is Free!! But we are selling Hamburgers and Hotdogs for $2.00 all proceeds help the Dream Home.

National Park Service Cenntennial Presentation

The National Park Service turns 100 on August 25, 2016, and everyone can take part in the celebration! The centennial will kick off a second century of stewardship of America’s national parks and engaging communities through recreation, conservation, and historic preservation programs. Join Friends of the Smokies at REI to find your park and discover the national parks and programs in your own backyard!

Free Poetry Workshop & Performance (8-12yrs)

April is National Poetry Month! Kids approximately 8-12 years old are invited to join in a 30-minute session of playing word games and writing poems as a group, followed by a 15-minute performance. Led by Chris Martin, local elementary teacher and director of the youth improv group A Gaggle of Giggles.

No reservation needed…just come and join the fun!

Bluegrass, Bikes & Beers

Come hang at Oskar Blues Brewery for the 2016 Bluesgrass, Bikes & Beer! This years event also doubles as the Cradle to Grave 30k and 10k Trail Race pre-party and packet pickup.

Schedule of Events:

3:00 p.m. : Group MTB ride or trail run in Pisgah National Forest (leaves from the brewery)
4:00 p.m. : Cradle to Grave Packet Pickup begins
5:00 p.m. : Tour of the brewery
5:30 p.m. : Music from Travis Book (of The Infamous Stringdusters) and the Fireside Collective.
7:00 p.m. : Tour of the brewery
8:00 p.m. : Packet pickup ends

How Do You LagerFest?

How do you LagerFest? is an opportunity for Hi-Wire Brewing and other regional breweries to showcase, what has become, a misunderstood beer. The event will highlight the wonderful world of lagers in laid back and casual festival setting. Hi-Wire will be pouring 10 of its speciality lagers and releasing its Spring Maibock (7% ABV) for the event.

Admission is $8 and includes How do you LagerFest? glassware and two beer tokens. Foothills Deli will be grilling up some popular barbeque eats and more beer tokens will be available for purchase throughout the event. Enjoy your lager as you get down with some miniature golf, corn hole, and other classic backyard games. Grab your grandpa’s lawn chair and join us for an afternoon full of lager love!

Family Friendly! Kids are welcome to come in for free (the entrance fee is for beer glassware and tokens), and we encourage them to play our yard games, including a 9 hole mini-golf course!

28th Historic Johnson Farm Spring Festival

Come out for the annual spring festival. Enjoy the farm while listening to live music, visiting animals, watching heritage demonstrations, buying homemade crafts, and more! There will be wagon rides, a bake sale, food, children’s games and activities, Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists, and schoolhouse lessons! The event runs 10 AM-4 PM Saturday, April 27. Adults are $5, students are $3, and children under 5 are free. Parking is across the street at Rugby Middle School, and buses will provide transportation across the street.

You have made the Tailgate Market a destination in Downtown Marion on Tuesday afternoons 3.00PM-6.00PM May – December and Saturday mornings 9.00AM-12.00 noon July-August.

Tuesdays 3PM-6.00PM (starting May 7th-Dec 10th, and Saturdays 9.00AM-12.00PM (starting July 6th- August 31st).
