1st Annual Nitty Gritty Day

You’re invited to the first annual Good Fibrations Nitty Gritty Day! Demonstrations and free mini classes in needle felting, weaving, spinning and dyeing. Come for a while or bring your lunch and spend the day!

Departing from Hominy Creek at 1 pm, jumping (more like rolling, crawling and stumbling) out at The Bywater.

2nd Annual WAX River Clean Up

Come float and help clean up the French Broad. There will be food and drinks afterwards. Twisted Laurel, Closing Tree, Asheville Outdoor Center, River Link, and local rafting companies are all offering help and support. Bring your own boat if you have one, come anyways if not. Let’s clean play and party on the river!!

Junior Dog Handling 4 Week Course begins (6-13yrs)

4 Week Sessions Beginning …
June 4th 5:00pm-7:00pm OR June 5th 10:00am-12:00pm

Junior Dog Handling with Appalachian Tails Dog Training of Asheville, for kids aged 6-13 years old. “Kids learn important skills such as dog handling, how dogs learn, dog body language, bite prevention, safety skills, critical thinking, confidence and more through fun and games with their dog. If a child would like to take the class but doesn’t have a dog, we can potentially find one for them to work with.” 

Meets once a week for 4 weeks. Choose from Saturday or Sunday classes. Parent/guardian must be present for each session.

Fondue Friday

Fridays 11:00am-8:00pm (they stop serving at 7:15pm) – Fondue Friday at The Chocolate Lab Of Asheville! Choose your chocolate (white, milk, dark, peanut butter, s’more, spicy or caramel chocolate) and 3 dippers (bananas, marshmallows, pretzels, graham crackers, cherries, apples, pineapple or strawberries), and get to dippin’! Dine in. One pot serves between 2-4 people. $13.00 a pot. No age limits.

11th Annual Square Dance, Potluck, & Raffle

Wow, we’ve past a decade and are now hosting our 11th Annual Square Dance?! We’d love to have you join us in this yearly celebration of continued harvest by and for our community. This is family potluck style with dancing, garden tours, garden games, and a big ole raffle with local items.

This is a family friendly event with activities for children too. Please bring a dish to share if you are able and we will have beer and wine available.

Suggested $10 donation for individuals and $25 for a family. Rain date to be Sunday, May 26th.
