Mountain Gateway Museum is hosting the 2016 Gospel Festival, featuring Brothers In Christ, Jamie Burnette, the Blairs, Emmett Carson, and other local talent. There is no charge for admission. Come on out–the music starts at 10AM!
First Baptist Church of Weaverville is hosting “Summer Splash,” a pool party celebrating the last day of school, Wednesday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Buncombe Community Pool, 890 Clarks Chapel Road. The event is free and includes snacks and drinks.

A crime has been committed at the museum, and we need your help to solve it! We will be collecting evidence and conducting forensic experiments to determine who committed the crime.

Does your child enjoy tinkering? Join us as we create new things using all sorts of odds and ends. Campers will use computers and specialized equipment such as laser cutters, 3D printers, soldering irons and much more!
Cool Chemistry!

Put on your safety goggles! We are going to explore the three states of matter and conduct some really cool science experiments. Campers will make soda bottles erupt and rockets soar! We’ll also deep-freeze things using Liquid Nitrogen, a substance that is -322 degrees Fahrenheit! From test tubes and beakers to colorful mixtures, this camp will be a BANG!
Animal Adventures!
July 18 – 22 // 9:00am – 4:00pm
Reptiles, Mammals, Amphibians—oh my! Campers will spend the entire week discovering the Animal Kingdom. Together we’ll see and touch LIVE animals. We will also discover where our animal friends live, and the resources they need for survival.
Art Medium Mania
August 1 – 5 // 9:00am – 4:00pm
Campers will create unique works of art using various types of art mediums. From crayons and markers, to shaving cream and mud, campers will discover how a wide variety of art mediums can be used to create a beautiful masterpiece.
KidSenses is an interactive children’s museum located in downtown Rutherfordton, NC near Asheville, Charlotte and Hendersonville. Our museum is great for field trips and family fun!
**** HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS! Join us February 28 – March 2, as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s 113th Birthday at KidSenses! We’ll have a photo booth, arts & crafts, and much more! This multi-day celebration starts at 10am and ends at 1pm. This event is FREE with museum admission, and registration is not required.

Green Opportunities (GO) is a community-based development organization dedicated to improving lives, communities and the health of the planet through innovative green collar job training and placement programs. GO is committed to empowering low-income neighborhoods in Asheville by preparing residents for well-paying green jobs, completing hands-on projects that make these neighborhoods safer and more sustainable, and linking the residents of these neighborhoods to jobs and other community resources that lead to greater empowerment.
