FREE Concert at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts
Join us on June 17th for the first of a series of concerts featuring the talented young professionals in our Young Artist Program!
For this concert, our Artists will perform opera scenes from a variety of great operas such as Carmen, La Bohème, The Magic Flute and more. This Free concert begins at 6:30pm at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. Be sure not to miss out on this fantastic musical experience.

7th Annual Yoga in the Park (Kids of all ages welcome!)
Kids of all ages are welcome!
Asheville Yoga Center launches our seventh year of the popular Yoga in the Park series on Saturday, June 1st, 2019. The donation-based classes are held at Reuter Terrace in Pack Square Park on Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and run from June 1st through August 31, except on June 22, July 22nd, and August 3rd. All proceeds benefit Asheville-based nonprofits Homeward Bound and United Way.
All levels are welcome, from newcomer to advanced, and no registration is necessary. Participants are asked to bring their own mats and filled water bottles.
No pre-registration needed. Bring your own mat and filled water bottle. All levels welcome!

Annual “Chalk It Up” Chalk Art Festival
“Chalk It Up!” is a fun, free, family friendly event held annually in downtown Hendersonville, NC. 150 artists from ages 5 & under to 21 & over take over 3,000 pieces of chalk and transform the sidewalks into an outdoor museum. Masterpieces, albeit temporary, grace the historic downtown. Spectators and art lovers welcome.Viewing lasts until the next rain.

Candlelight Vigil for Pulse Victims
Join us at 8:00pm as we gather together to honor the lives of those involved in the Pulse shooting.
Candlelight service will begin at 8:00pm, outside of O’Henrys with Jasmine Beach-Ferrara, Brian Ammons, Amy Cantrell, Tranz Mission, Equality NC, and Campaign for Southern Equality.

The Downtown Sylva Churches are excited to offer a Community Bible Camp experience for the children and youth of Jackson County. Each day, kids will learn how they can serve Christ by serving others. With a special emphasis on community and service, kids will be involved daily with hands-on service & mission projects.

Come on in for a visit and discover the beauty of the world beneath your feet. The Mineral Museum serves as a primary resource for education and information on the earth sciences related to geology and paleontology.
The Henderson County Mineral & Lapidary Museum on Main Street houses displays of minerals, gemstones, Geodes, fluorescents, casting of a tyrannosaurus rex skull, a mastodon tusk and teeth, and a wooly mammoth leg bone. Free Admission.
