We’re having a full volunteer workday event to get the shop and offices ready for customers and clients at the new WNCAL HQ.
Please come out and lend a hand. There’s something for everyone to do. And laughs and fun will be had by all along the way.

ABCCM Yard Sale

Find hidden treasures at ABCCM’s Yard Sale to benefit our Crisis Ministry centers! Stop by to check out all the furniture, household items, electronics, jewelry, clothes, collectibles and much, much more!
All proceeds benefit our Crisis Ministry centers, which provide food, clothing, utility, and other kinds of assistance to thousands of community members each year.
The yard sale will be held at our South Crisis Ministry location at 10 Buck Shoals Road in Arden.

National Night Out with the Canton Police Department

National Night Out is an opportunity to enhance relationships between neighbors and Emergency Services while bringing back a sense of community. The Canton Police Department will have inflatables, music, free hotdogs, popcorn, and drinks. We hope you can come and enjoy the evening with us!

Coffee with a Cop

Join your neighbors and law enforcement representatives from the Asheville Police Department for coffee and conversation. No agenda or speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.

Kids Day (And Then Some!)

Asheville Outlets will join forces with area nonprofits to host a Kids Day (And Then Some!) Saturday, April 13th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. featuring interactive booths and displays, live music, games, strolling magic, crafts, balloon art, face painting and a wide variety of other family-focused events on-mall and in the parking lot.

Also taking place on Saturday, a Summer Camp Expo providing an opportunity for parents to learn about area camps including traditional overnight, sports, arts, day and academic. In the lot behind the food court, the 2nd annual Truck City AVL event where children can touch, climb and ask questions about their favorite vehicles in a safe and supervised environment, with a MAMA (medical helicopter) landing during the event and in the parking lot in front of Field & Stream, highway patrol vehicles from motorcycles to the famous GHOST (marked vehicle that cannot be detected until in close proximity) will headline the 1st annual NC State Highway Patrol Safety Day.

Plus, the 9th Annual Asheville Book Fest will take place at the center featuring 25+ local authors and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Deputies stationed around-the-clock on the rooftop of Asheville Outlets to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Trail Blaze Challenge.

All Kids Day (And Then Some!) weekend events are complimentary and open to the public.

“Little One Inch” by Red Herring Puppets

This enchanting coming-of-age folktale from Japan illustrates that little people can achieve great things. Don’t miss it!

Free tickets are available at the library two weeks before each event.  Space is limited, so tickets are required for attendance.

ecoEXPLORERS: Introduction to Insects

Learn basics of the initiative ecoEXPLORERS, what makes an insect an insect, and how to identify the major groups. Then we’ll check out the library hotspot to make and submit observations. Each participant will receive a free insect magnifying box.
