As always, this event is free and family-friendly.

Finding Butterflies
10am – Green River Library
1pm – Edneyville Library
4pm – Main Hendersonville Library
This is a beautiful slide presentation of Eastern butterflies by Jerry Schneider, creator of the award winning Butterfly Game. Audiences will learn the importance of leaving the screen behind, getting out into fields, back roads, and waterways, investigating places where butterflies find food and lay their eggs.
After the slide show, children will create their own butterfly t-shirts using a combination of Rit fabric dye sprayers, plants, and butterfly cut outs.
Bring a heavy, 100% cotton t-shirt to decorate!

4th Annual Festival of Fun
DEADLINE TO REGISTER YOUR KID BUSINESS IS AUGUST 15th!
It’s back folks… the Dancing Bear Kidzone!
The Kidzone is a section of Fun Fest reserved for kid businesses. We welcome all kinds of young entrepreneurs- from lemonade stands to on-demand interpretive dances. Every kid has a special talent, and we want to help them showcase it! Running their own business is a great way to boost kids’ confidence and teach awesome life skills like budgeting, time management, social skills, responsibility, and much more!
All you need is an idea!
Ask your kid what they’re really, really good at. What do they love to do? The sky’s the limit- if your kid wants to sell rides in her imaginary spaceship, go for it! Be silly! Have fun with it! Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Crafts- friendship bracelets, jewelry, potholders, pinch pots, soap, tissue paper flowers, personalized dinosaur drawings
- Food- lemonade stands, bake sales, homemade dog treats, etc.
- Services- fortune telling, poetry on demand, iPhone lessons, dog walking, musical farting, ninja lessons
- Performances- is your child a musician? A stand-up comedian? We’d be happy to host a performance- just let us know!
We recommend that you keep your goods and services under $5 for Fun Fest, but we’re always open to exceptions.
What’s the next step?
Interested in participating? Fill out their form no later than August 15th.
