The WNC Warriors are hosting a basketball clinic at A.C. Reynolds Middle School on July 30th from 9:00am-2:00pm. It is called “HOOP FOR THE HOMELESS.” This will be a skills training clinic where we will divide the groups up by age and work on developing & perfecting basketball skills. We are partnering up with Homeward Bound, who will be speaking to the parents & children attending about homelessness first thing in the morning before the clinic starts. We, the WNC WARRIORS Travel Basketball Organization, will be donating $10 per child who signs up for this to Homeward Bound.
We have also partnered up with Fun Depot who has graciously donated two-hundred $5 Play cards to the first 200 campers who attend and all who purchase a “HOOP FOR THE HOMELESS” shirt that wears it to Fun Depot after the clinic will receive a group rate to play on top of their $5 play cards they received at the clinic! HUGE SAVINGS$$$$!!!!
WLOS has stated that they wanted to cover this event as long as no other breaking news is occurring.
Local business owner of Bandidos, Justin Smudde, has kindly made the offer that he would 100% donate lunch for the children who attend & offer other food for sale for anyone else who is hanging out or stopping by and will donate $2/per plate sold to Homeward Bound as well!
Another locally owned business, Tri-County Printing Solutions, Jon Hill stated that they would donate 20 signs to help us advertise at major, in-town intersections.
Our other locally owned business, P5Sports , Patrick Provone and Jermaine Parker will be onsite screen printing shirts to order and we will be putting business logos of ALL who have donated their time, money or gifts on them.
This won’t be the first time the WNC WARRIORS will be giving back to the community. Earlier this year they held a carwash at Kounty Line BP Gas Station near A.C. Reynolds Middle & High School and raised over $500, in which we used half of the donations to purchase items that the AHOPE Center of Homeward Bound needed.

This showing is free at the Old Fort Elementary auditorium and seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
This event is supported by the Center for Cultural Preservation, the North Carolina Humanities Counsel, and Duke Energy.
