Stalking Jack the Ripper (Author Event) (14+yrs)
Meet Kerri Maniscalco, author of the new (Sept. 20, 2016) young adult novel STALKING JACK THE RIPPER. This is a free event, best for ages 14 and up.
In this spine-chilling gothic murder mystery set in gritty Victorian-era London, an intrepid society girl finds herself inescapably embroiled in the investigation of a ghastly serial killer known as Jack the Ripper. Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life. Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world. The story’s shocking twists and turns, augmented with real, sinister period photos, will make this dazzling debut from author Kerri Maniscalco impossible to forget.
STALKING JACK THE RIPPER is a book that teen and adult readers alike will love – and it has a strong “women in (forensic) science” angle as well.

‘You Can’t Take it With You’ Stage Production
Written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart
Directed by Christopher Hart (Moss Hart’s son)
This Pulitzer Prize-winning classic by the team of Kaufman and Hart is perhaps the greatest American comedy ever written.
Alice Sycamore must introduce her fiancé’s straight-laced family to her rather more eccentric family. When the wildly different families meet, the worlds of the wealthy, uptight Kirbys and the off-kilter Sycamores collide. At first the Sycamores seem mad, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder.
