Do you have last year’s Halloween costume in the back of the closet? The year before? A whole box? Bring them down to Riverside Curiosities! The WNCALKids! gang is hosting their 2nd annual costume give-away for those in need.
Last year, we gave out costumes at the Burton Street Community Center to any child who needed one. This year, we’d love to have enough on hand to set up in two or even three different communities.
What to bring:
Costumes~ whole is best, but partial will work, too!
Wigs~ Clean, any color, any style.
Accessories~ Funky hats, masks, costume jewelery, feather boas, anything that will help to bring a costume together
Make-up kits~ New, unused, please.
Trick-or-Treak bags or buckets
Yourself!~ We are always in need of volunteers to help

“Celebration of Life” service for Lila Pickering
Biltmore Church West Asheville Campus will host a “Celebration of Life” service for Lila Pickering, the 6-year-old girl killed last week. Lila was a first grade student at Johnston Elementary School in Buncombe County.
The event will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the West Asheville Campus at 220 Johnston Boulevard.
“The underlying goal of the service is to celebrate Lila’s life and honor her memory,” said West Asheville Campus Pastor Jeremy Woods. “We wanted to play an active role in offering healing and hope to our community,” Woods said. “Our hopeful outcome is that healing and hope and closure would rise in our community.”
