Established with the intent of providing a venue for artisans and crafts people to display their work, the festival has now grown to include more than 120 craft and food vendors. This one-day show is now recognized as one of the finest juried shows in the southeast. Main Street Waynesville is transformed into an arts and crafts marketplace featuring two-dimensional and three-dimensional work such as pottery, jewelry, wood, fiber art, watercolors, and photography. Local and regional artists share their crafts and traditions with visitors and locals alike. With the backdrop of the Smoky Mountains bathed in beautiful autumn splendor and crisp mountain air, visitors can experience the traditional values and cultural arts unique to the area. The event has something for everyone and is family-oriented.

Transylvania, Romania might be the origin of Count Dracula’s character, but Transylvania County and Brevard have the best celebration! (And it’s the closest Transylvania there is!)
We have a full day’s worth of family fun and light-hearted celebration planned for the spookiest day of the year! The Flight of the Vampire 5K, 10K, and Children’s Fun Run takes off in the morning from in front of the Post Office on West Main Street. Watch as vampires, zombies, and ghosts (disguised as runners) make their rounds around town.
Heart of Brevard’s street festival, featuring crafters, artists, games, and food, opens at 10:00am at Broad and Main Streets in downtown Brevard, and is sure to be fun for everyone in your family. Come to town in costume and enter the Costume Contest and Parade. This is for all ages, with cash prizes and a parade through town after the judging!
Old Time Music has never looked so good as it does in Brevard! A full slate of groups all day at the courthouse Gazebo gives you just a small taste of what is available in Transylvania County. Make sure you bring a chair and your dancing shoes!
Where better to give up your blood than in Transylvania?!? This year we welcome again The Blood Connection to Halloweenfest – collecting blood for Transylvania Regional Hospital! You will also find Pumpkin Carving, Brevard Academy’s Pumpkin Plinko, and so many other things at Transylvania’s annual Halloweenfest!
And we don’t leave out your four-legged family members, either. Starting at the stage on West Main Street, the animals in this parade strut their stuff all through town! It is a true treat to see the creativity of these creatures – and their owners!

Single sessions are $20, materials included, with a “frequent Flerys” special of six prepaid classes for $99. Siblings discount of 20% for two more kids from the same family.
These sessions are open to ANYONE, whether a Charlotte Street Kid or not. Public, private, or home school kids are all welcome. These classes are being offered by James Cassara, a recently retired elementary art teacher of 34 years experience.
