Hey! We’re selling off some of our props! People say that we should eventually open a thrift store here with all of this great inventory that we often need to reduce. What do YOU think?
Join us for story time at the park! I will be reading 2-3 stories. The kids can look and play with some books or color a book mark. Then they can play on the playground while we chat and get to know each other and make some new friends. Feel free to bring a friend, a snack or lunch too! There is a water drinking fountain.
During the summer months, hundreds of volunteers “get dirty for a great cause” by joining river and neighborhood cleanups, creating and maintaining pollinator gardens, and participating in other environmentally-focused activities. At our 7th Annual Root Ball, we’ll gather with our volunteers, friends, and supporters, to celebrate our love of WNC and our shared passion for keeping our communities beautiful.
Your $25 ticket includes:
All-you-can-eat buffet featuring Black Bear BBQ, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Dr. King’s Farms, and No Evil Foods (vegan plant meat), as well as locally prepared sides by Gene Ettison, former Executive Chef Instructor of Green Opportunities Kitchen Ready Program.
Complimentary beverages courtesy of Wicked Weed Brewing (beer + cider), Johnson Brothers Distributing (wine), and Devil’s Foot Beverage Co. (nonalcoholic refreshments).
Plus music by DJ Oso Rey, silent auction of outdoor recreation, wellness, arts & leisure items and gift certificates, and a native plant raffle of local trees and pollinators.
Whether your party shoes are high heels or Chacos, put ’em on and come out to show some #LocalLove to GreenWorks (voted 2019’s #1 Nonprofit Who Improves Asheville in the Mountain Xpress Best Of WNC)!
All proceeds benefit Asheville GreenWorks’ critical programs in litter prevention, waste reduction, urban forestry, and environmental education.
