“Buncombe County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking orders for a limited number of Christmas trees. The trees are 5, 6, 7 and 8 foot Fraser Firs from Madison County. Cost ranges from $32 to $42 based on height. Wreaths are also for sale and the proceeds from all sales go to fund the District’s environmental education programs. All trees must be ordered in advance and you can pick them up at the District office.

Monthly Quilting Class for ages 9-18yrs with Henderson County 4-H at the N.C. Cooperative Extension – Henderson County Center in Jackson Park in Hendersonville. “This group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. This is NOT a “learn to sew” class. All participants must have basic sewing skills and experience prior to joining. There is no cost for the class itself, but you may need to purchase basic sewing or quilting tools, and fabric/ batting from time to time. New members may join at the Nov. 17 or Dec. 15 meetings.

Nov 17th 7:00am-1:00pm – Insurance Service of Asheville‘s Toasty! ISA’s 7th Annual Blanket and Winter Wearables Drive, benefitting Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM). “A way for us to meet a tangible need in our community as colder weather moves in, which is to provide a blanket, coats, hats and gloves for every needy woman, man, child and family. The public is encouraged to stop by the drive, drop off a donation of one or more blankets or winter wearables, and enjoy coffee, donuts, and home-baked breakfast treats from the ISA staff. Staff from ABCCM, Insurance Service of Asheville, and 98.1 The River’s live remote team will be on hand for the blanket drive.”
