This community presentation provides education around adverse childhood experiences, traumatic events, and what this does to our developing bodies and brains. We explore the background, research, and science behind this, as we look at what it means to be resilient and how we can build resiliency in ourselves, our children, and our communities.

Take part in this free hands-on program hosted by youth educators from the Asheville Art Museum. For this session we will focus on African American art. Learn something exciting, view original art, and make a piece to take home. Designed for school-aged children.

Folkmoot Falala
Folkmoot Falala is a free community event celebrating the holidays! Featuring several local bands, the community is invited to sing together, enjoy pie, cookies and seasonal beverages at the Sam Love Queeen Auditorium in Waynesville. In lieu of admission, audience members are invited to bring a pie or cookies to share. Folkmoot will provide beverages. Music will be provided by the Blue Ridge Big Band, Blackberry Jam, Possum on a Whale and Celtic Crew. The sing-a-long will be lead by vocalist, Tammie Schwab.
