Breakdancing with B-Boy Evans

Break Dance Classes provide quality dance lessons by experienced and accomplished instructors. Focus on authentic Hip-Hop dance styles. Students will not only learn dance moves, but also their history and context within Hip-Hop culture.

Discovery Guides Session 1 – Art and Creativity (June 26-30)
Have you spent your summers at the Arboretum as a camper, and would like to take on a new challenge? Discovery Guides are youth in grades 6-8 who experience the Arboretum like never before as they aid Arboretum staff in leading lessons for our youngest campers, feed and care for our classroom animals and complete other special projects. After interacting with our Pre-K aged campers in the morning you’ll join us in nature and outdoor skill field trips and meet special visitors and guest speakers. This opportunity is limited to only five youth each week, and a short essay is required prior to acceptance.
Price: $225; Camp times: 9 am – 4 pm

Advanced Mountain Sports (July 24-28)
Get out and get active for this fun-filled week of outdoor adventure! Learn to play disc golf, hike some of the best trails our mountains have to offer and head down to the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education for a fly fishing class before fishing one of the top 100 trout streams in the country. We’ll also spend a day doing high-flying adventure activities at the US National Whitewater Center and plan for an overnight camp out near the Whitewater Center. Participants will choose their own adventure at the center and select from challenge courses, zip lines, climbing, kayaking, war canoes and eco trekking. Our most action packed week of Discovery Camp yet!
Price: $350; Camp times: 9 am – 4 pm and one overnight

Join registered Merit Badge Counselor and Eagle Scout Jonathan Marchal in completing four badges in the great outdoors at the Arboretum! We’ll focus each day on a new outdoor skills badge, including Fishing, Fly Fishing, Geocaching and Orienteering merit badges. Activities will include day hiking to Lake Powhatan, fly fishing on the Davidson River and geocaching in Dupont State Forest. Don’t miss this opportunity for summer fun and advancement! There are no prerequisites for these badges.

Cancellation Policy:
Each registration is a firm commitment to attend. Each program is held to a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee regardless of any other factors. The only exclusions are for ‘before or after care’ and conflicts that arise from changing school schedules. A 50% refund is allowable if a cancellation occurs between 30-11 days prior to the first day of the session. No refund will be offered for sessions cancelled 10 days or less prior to the first day of the session. Registrations are not transferable to other individuals.

What is Secret Keeper Girl Purple Party Tour?
Secret Keeper Girl is a Bible-based relationship-building experience for moms and their tween daughters (typically ages 7-12). The two and a half hour event features a fun fashion show that demonstrates modesty, biblical teaching on the concept of being a princess, incredible balloon sculptures, bouncing beach ball competitions, mother/daughter conversation time & colorful confetti cannons.
