2017 Farm-to-Table Dinner Series
Saturdays: May 27, June 10, June 24, July 8, July 22 (*If severe weather is imminent, dates will be postponed).
We invite you to come get to know our community and landscape in the beautiful South Toe Valley – the base of the stunning Black Mountains- tallest on the east coast!
Talented South Toe-area chef, Eric Brown, utilizes the freshest ingredients from Open Ridge and other local farmers to create a casual, family-friendly dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. As well, enjoy time just to chill and disconnect, play games (kids and grown-ups alike!), and stroll through the garden and budding orchard.
Each dinner will have two seatings, with time before or after for just relaxing on the farm or exploring area trails, should you choose.
Supporting Local Community
We sincerely appreciate your support of our rural community – farmers, chefs, artists, and friends involved with the dinner will all benefit. In addition, we will also donate 10% off the top to a Yancey County non-profit focused on providing food and opportunities for our neighbors.
There will be two seatings, each 25-30 people, at 4 PM and 6 PM. For the early group, we invite you to hang out afterwards and enjoy the farm. For the later group, come early!
Menu
Each dinner will have a meat and vegetarian option. Dinners will include herbal iced tea or water, light appetizers, entree, and dessert. BYOB.
Tickets will be available for purchase in advance only, from their website.

FREE tickets available with Kids Tixx Program (Buncombe County families)
The Kids Tixx program provides access to wonderful arts & culture experiences not always in the budget for some of Buncombe County’s families, while also supporting our local arts presenters! Kids Tixx provides free admission for one child and one adult to local arts and cultural events, exhibits, and more. To be able to share this opportunity with as many children as possible the AAAC will give one opportunity per child per quarter.
The Asheville Area Arts Council believes that creative experiences are vitally important to quality of life, and inspire and bring joy to young hearts. Cultural experiences also bring families closer together, and provide moments that become meaningful memories. For some, the Kids Tixx program may be one of the few art related experiences that a child will have all year. We appreciate our donors, who are willing to reach out and nurture joy in our community in this way, while also supporting our worthy arts presenters.
Request Kids Tixx:
If you or someone you know may be interested in receiving Kids Tixx to an upcoming event, performance, museum exhibition, or concert, please complete the Kids Tixx Request Form, stop by the Asheville Area Arts Council at 207 Coxe Avenue, or call 828.258.0710 today for more information. Once you are signed up you will be the first to know about all upcoming Kids Tixx!
Kids Tixx Qualifications:
Kids Tixx are made available to families who would otherwise be discouraged from attending events due to the price of tickets. Kids Tixx gives priority to a child and their parent, family member, or mentor, but tixx are often made available to area youth and group leaders and/or mentors from organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sister of Western North Carolina. Not sure if you qualify? Call 828.258.0710 or email Janelle Wienke at janelle@ashevillearts.com for more information.
We ask that those families who receive Kids Tixx complete a Kids Tixx survey and compose a small thank you note (made out to the Asheville Area Arts Council) after they have attended their Kids Tixx event. We love getting photos from our Kids Tixx events and hand drawn illustrations!
