An evening filled with fun for kids exploring STEAM based activities, games and more!
Did you know the Eastern box turtle is our state reptile? Did you know that these turtles can live to be 100 years old? Jonathan Marchal will introduce Shelly, The North Carolina Arboretum‘s “celebriturtle” and learn about how you can help she and other turtles that call Western North Carolina home.

Located at Wild Mountain Bees, this class will offer a whirlwind of info from hive placement to season long management. You will also receive a handout of month by month management tips specifically for our region. Classes will be taught by Sarah McKinney and are a wonderful addition to any other bee schools or classes you may have the opportunity to attend. This is a great class for first year beekeepers or people wanting to get started with bees! The price of the class is $45. Stop by the store or give us a call to register.

The decision for how to feed our babies is not taken or made lightly. Spend time with others who have gone through similar struggles in coming to the conclusion that: “Fed is best.”
We will share stories, explore, and support each other with:
· Feeding techniques
· Finding the right bottle/nipple (size, level, shape, etc) with The
Mothership’s Bottle Library
· Finding the right formula (we’ll have samples!)
· Pumping techniques, schedules, tips, etc.
· Grieving the breastfeeding relationship
· How to handle judgments
· How to wean – either onto formula or off the bottle entirely
· …and much more!
This FREE group is for those who, for whatever reason, only feed their babies with a bottle. Formula moms/dads, pumping moms, pumping moms who supplement – all are welcome!
Meets the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10am at The Mothership. Babies, pumps, and bottles can all come, too! (The 3/18 meeting will be at noon instead of 10am)
About the host, Lauren K. Kaufmann, LPC: Lauren had insufficient glandular tissue (IGT) and a baby who just did not want to breastfeed. She saw lactation consultants, pumped for 3 months, supplemented with formula starting in the hospital, tried “all the supplements,” and even had an adverse reaction to Reglan. Lauren gets that fed is best, and that it is hard, and she wants you to know that there is support out there for bottle-feeders!

Join us to hear about projects happening in our neighborhoods, particularly ones led by Buncombe County Government Isaac Coleman grant recipients, and how you can support them! Hosted by Hood Huggers International.
Each spring, the Asheville Downtown Association hosts Easter on the Green, presented by Ingles, the Saturday before Easter Sunday. This year’s event is Saturday, April 20 from 2-5pm at Pack Square Park. Easter on the Green is a free event.
The event features age-specific Easter egg hunts, see schedule below. Parents/guardians will be required to check children in to pick up the appropriate wristband for their age.
We’ll also have bouncy houses and free photos with the Easter Bunny. Food will be available for purchase.
Children will also have an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. IMA Photo & Images will be there all day to take photos of kids with the Easter Bunny which parents can download for free or purchase a print.

First day of camp is June 21st. Last day is August 11th. We are only closed on July 4th and you can sign up for individual weeks for convenience!
Take advantage of our $25.00 registration fee before May 1st. Eliada accepts child care subsidy.
DayCamp is from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. Children get to swim, go on weekly field trips, visit the Eliada animals, and use all the Eliada Kid Amenities, including the climbing wall, driving range, and labyrinth.
