Offered in conjunction with the Asheville Tourists and the Roberson Rams baseball program, this non-competitive baseball league is for youth ages 6-17 and adults ages 18+ with disabilities. Players will learn the basics of baseball with an extra emphasis on FUN!
We are beyond excited to announce a brand new soccer soccer camp this June. Our Soccer “Boot” Camp will be open to players ages 5-14. In order to provide a fantastic soccer experience for our young players, we have recruited two players from Asheville’s new semi pro soccer team, Asheville City Soccer Club! Camp sessions run from June 26-30th.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!
Mar 21st – Annual Rotarians Against Hunger Meal Packing Event at Reuter Family YMCA in Biltmore Park Town Square. Rotary Clubs across WNC have been working together to fighting hunger through Rotarians Against Hunger since 2010, and the goal of this event is to package 350,000 nutritious meals including black beans, brown rice and white rice that will be distributed throughout Western North Carolina by MANNA FoodBank and the YMCA of WNC Community Health Nutrition Outreach Program. The meal packaging event is a fun, family-friendly and immensely rewarding experience where people of all ages can participate – individuals, families, church groups, civic organizations and businesses – come together, and package nutritious meals to help feed our neighbors.
Additionally a portion of the funds raised will go toward distributing seeds internationally through Seed Programs International. Seed Programs International, a non-governmental humanitarian organization which works worldwide provides vegetable seeds to impoverished communities in developing countries enabling them to grow some of their own food. The organization not only provides the seed, but gives expertise and hands-on assistance on how to successfully plant and harvest. This is a long-term effort to help cure global hunger.

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU as we celebrate a very special parent/child STAR WARS themed night on May 4th! The force will be strong at this event from 6:30-8:30 pm while you and your child come and participate in lots of Star Wars themed LEGO building activities, plus crafts, Jedi Training and some awesome take homes for the kids and parents! We will also have some themed snacks that are out of this galaxy! A great family bonding activity that will be a blast!
This event will be held upstairs in classroom space at Fun Depot. The only way to attend this event is to register online. Each registration for one child also includes ONE adult and is $25. We can’t wait to see you on May the 4th!!

Back by popular demand, Lake James State Park and the Catawba Valley Astronomy Club will be co-hosting the Annual Statewide Star Party. Learn some basic star gazing tips and take home your own star chart. There will be telescopes and binoculars set up for viewing the night sky, but feel free to bring your own if you have them. Folding chairs are also recommended. We will meet in the upper parking lot of the Paddy’s Creek Area at 7:45 p.m. and get things rolling as soon as it gets dark and stars and planets start showing themselves.

44th LEAF Festival ~ Ignite & Inspire takes place May 11-14 in Black Mountain. Featuring Macy Gray, Antibalas, A Tribe Called Red, and many more, the weekend will ignite your imagination and inspire the soul.
This free event is open to the public. Kids + well-behaved pets with owner on leash are welcome.
Central UMC Spring Festival – Sunday, April 28 from Noon – 1:30 pm
Join us for our annual Spring Festival Potluck lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Central will provide the meat and drinks. Please bring side dishes and desserts. Games and activities will be provided for the children.

Owen High School Key Club presents the Eleventh Annual Daddy Daughter Dinner Dance. This years’s theme is “Dance Like an Egyptian”. Dress is semi-formal. Purchase tickets (cash only) at the Visitor’s Center in Black Mountain. $30 per couple + $10 for each additional daughter (2nd-12th grade). Price includes catered dinner & DJ music.
