UNC Asheville women’s basketball head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick and her staff will host three camps during the summer of 2017 as part of the Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick Girls Basketball Camps. The camps are dedicated to providing basketball camps that are both instructional and informational as well as featuring great atmospheres to learn in.
The back-to-back Big South Conference Champion women’s basketball coaching staff prides itself on teaching the sport to players of all ages and ability levels. All camps are taught by the Bulldog coaching staff and current players. The mechanics and drills that are taught at the clinics are the same ones used in developing the UNC Asheville women’s basketball student-athletes as they have won back-to-back Big South Tournament titles and made two-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
“We are excited to be hosting our sixth year of basketball camp at UNC Asheville,” said Coach Mock, the 2015-16 Big South Conference and HERO Sports Coach of the Year. “Designing a competitive and fun camp curriculum as well as providing a first class experience is a priority for us at all of our camps. It is extremely important to me that our entire staff as well as our student-athletes are present and involved throughout the camps. For high school aged campers, our high intensity camp is an opportunity to experience basketball at a high level and work on specific skill sets that will carry over to their high school seasons. We also love to collaborate with local and regional high schools at our team camp and have up to 6 courts under one roof to utilize. Our day camp has doubled in size over the past two years and is an unforgettable experience for young girls desiring to learn more about competition, exercise and basketball.”
