First Thursdays, October 2019 through April, 2020
Happy fall! With the change of seasons, the First Thursday Square Dance returns in October! Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 3rd from 7:30–10:00 p.m. at Archetype Brewing on Broadway (174 Broadway St.) We’ll have live music and square dancing in a wonderful space to gather and dance on a lovely old wooden floor. Y’all know how fun this get-together is – come on out and bring lots of friends! The dance is free, open to all ages, and welcoming to all.
All dance callers are welcome, even if you just know how to call one dance – we’ll take turns at the mic. And the music is provided by an open band – bring instruments to play a few tunes, and also remember to rotate out of the music seats and dance from time to time!
There is no charge to come out and dance, but we do encourage folks to make donations to support the demands of getting the party to sound good. And please tip well and buy drinks (or bring friends who like to buy drinks!) to support Archetype for hosting the dance.
Archetype Broadway is between the Moog store and High Five coffee, and across the street from the ABC building. There is parking behind the building (accessed via Bordeau Place or Marcellus St.), and across Broadway in the public lot parallel to Cherry St. Don’t park in front of the ABC building – you might be ticketed or towed.

Highland Brewing Company and Urban Orchard Cider Company and Barhave teamed up to bring the quintessential fall beer, Apple Molasses Brown Ale. Small batch homemade apple molasses is the star of the brew, made using a recipe from UO Marketing Director Jeff Anderson’s family. The crew added some of Urban Orchard’s juice for a bit of sweetness to balance the solid brown ale backbone.
