Fairy Market

This event is open to the public, and there is no fee to attend.

Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of captivating activities. Highlights of this year’s Magical Fairy Market include:

  • Face Painting
  • DIY Fairy Garden
  • Zentangle
  • Dulcimer Lessons
  • Story Time

The Fairy Market will also offer a unique shopping experience. Explore a wide selection of whimsical items, including crowns, unicorn horns, gnome hats, wings, wands, and limited jewelry.

There will not be timed entry to the fairy trail this year. All access is first come, first serve. Parking is limited. Please observe parking signs, please do not park on Zeb Corn Road.

Donuts with Dad

Join us on Father’s Day for Donuts with Dad! This yearly event was popular last year, so don’t miss it! Free coffee and donuts with Open Play admission, plus a free Father’s Day craft!

Old Fort Trails & Trains Festival

Join us for group-led hikes, excursions to our most popular outdoor destinations, demos from outdoor recreation and sports vendors, plus so much more! Vendor and Exhibitor Area will be open from 11am-3pm, with a Fun 5k and other outdoor activities starting around 8am.

Appalachian Farmers & Artisan Market

Third Thursdays 5:00pm-8:00pm, April through October

Shop local every Third Thursday at this relaxed and friendly market located at Homeplace Beer Company in downtown Burnsville, NC. Enjoy a pizza and craft brew while the kids and dogs play!

Come see us on Saturday mornings from 10am to 2pm weekly during our 2023 Tailgate Market Season. We will be here most Saturdays excluding major event weekends (and we’ll make announcements about those). Saturdays are a great day to come out and explore your downtown, starting at the market! We’ll have a coffee truck, rotating live entertainment, and more!

The Asheville Parks & Rec Summer Guide is out and it’s packed with lots of programs and activities to participate in, including Movies in the Park, Skate Nights, Midnight Basketball, and more!! Much of it is FREE or low cost!

☀️ Established in 1954, Asheville Parks & Recreation manages a unique collection of more than 55 public parks, playgrounds, and open spaces throughout the city in a system that also includes full-complex recreation centers, swimming pools, Riverside Cemetery, sports fields and courts, and community centers that offer a variety of wellness-, education-, and culture-related programs for Ashevillians of all ages. With 8 miles of paved greenways and numerous natural surface trails, its complete portfolio acts as the foundation of a vibrant hub for the people of Asheville to connect with their neighbors and explore the natural beauty of a livable and walkable city. Driven by the promise that Asheville is a better and safer place when everyone from infants to retirees has the opportunity to be supported, healthy, and successful, Asheville Parks & Recreation was the first nationally-accredited municipal recreation department in the United States.
