Party in the Park! Come out and play!
Come out and play to celebrate the enhancement of local park spaces! With help from an Asheville Area Arts Council grant, Aurora Studio & Gallery has been working with Asheville Parks & Recreation to repaint park benches, and welcomes you to celebrate the new art in the park. There will be donuts, cider & children’s band Dolphin Bum Bum!

Therapeutic Recreation – Fun Day Out (6+yrs)
Come enjoy a day of games, crafts, special events and field trips when schools are out. This program is for students ages 6 and up with disabilities currently enrolled in school. All participants must bring lunch and drink.

Annual News 13 Pet Project!
Join us for the 3rd annual News 13 Pet Project! We’re partnering with 10 local humane societies/rescue groups to help animals in our area find a forever home!
Even if you’re not sure, take a bit to come out & see all the available animals & speak with local organizations about the process. We’ll have available animals on site from 9am-6pm for you to meet.
We will have a Pet Project adoption rate of $100! We will be collecting pet food, pet supplies, cleaning supplies & monetary donations for all rescues that day.

Family-friendly events are offered during the year in conjunction with the Museum’s Collection, exhibitions, First Friday Art Walk and other special events. Activities may include guided tours, a hands-on studio project for children and adults, and refreshments. Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Party
Join Aloft and Charlie’s Angels for a howling good time at our Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Party on Sunday, October 20! From 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., party with your pooches and compete in our costume contests to win fun prizes. Lounge around w xyz Bar for drink specials and tasty treats for humans and dogs alike.
Does your pup have what it takes to strut their stuff? Check-in for the dog parade and costume contest begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by the parade and costume contest at 5:00 p.m. Furry friends can be registered based on small, medium or large breeds and the top three winners will receive a prize! All dogs who enter the contest will receive a treat and owners will receive a $5 voucher to w xyz Bar.
Are you and your pup a package deal? Enter in our dog and family costume contest for the change to take home the first-place prize! Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. and the contest will begin at 6:00 p.m.

‘Night at the Museum’ Parents Night Out Program (5-10yrs)
Need a date night without the kids? Bring the kids to the museum for a night of science fun! AMOS hosts Night at the Museum from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on the second Friday of every month. We will have pizza, a movie, fun games and activities, and of course: our interactive exhibit halls for your 5-10 year old to have a blast!
