Black Mountain Winter Market
Saturdays, Dec 2nd 2017 – April, 2018
You’ll find a lot more than traditional winter staples like potatoes and onions at the market. Area farmers are now able to provide fresh greens grown in hoop houses, herbs, cabbage, carrots, beets, radish & garlic throughout the fall, winter & spring. The Black Mountain Winter Market has grown from the demand for a direct producer-to-consumer experience beyond the traditional summer market season.
This market was created by farmers, and continues to be operated by farmers, for farmers. Our focus is on food and agricultural products. In addition to vegetables, during the months of November through April, you can find grassfed meats, cheeses, farm fresh eggs, fermented vegetables & kombucha, honey, artisan breads & baked goods, syrups, jams & preserves, grains & oils, locally grown and blended teas, ethically sourced coffee, locally-pressed juices, local sourced hot breakfast, music and much more, all under one roof at the Roots & Fruits Market in beautiful downtown Black Mountain. Saturdays, from 11am to 2pm.

Annual WNC Bigfoot Festival
For years, Bigfoot 911 has explored the Mountains of Western North Carolina and beyond searching for the illusive Bigfoot. After several close encounters with Sasquatch, the non-profit group was inspired to hold the first WNC Bigfoot Festival in 2018 for believers and non-believers alike in the group’s hometown of Marion, N.C.
During the first three WNC Bigfoot festivals, more than 70,000 people enjoyed Bigfoot activities, educational panels and more. Whether you’re interested in learning more about the mysterious creature, trying food inspired by Sasquatch, or you want to try your hand at the Bigfoot Calling Contest, there’s something for everyone planned during the 2024 WNC Bigfoot Festival.
