Mad Hatter Sunday Afternoon Tea Tasting

“Would you like an adventure now, or shall we have our tea first?” — Alice in Wonderland

Join us for full Mad Hatter-themed Afternoon Tea service plus informative talk and tasting by Jessie Dean, owner of Asheville Tea Company. Guests will enjoy a seasonal tea flight tasting of fall blends by AVL Tea Co. In addition to warm, homemade scones and shortbread cookies alongside jam and clotted cream as well as traditional finger sandwiches and petit-four style desserts. Learn about uses, sourcing, and health benefits of these teas. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind experience – costumes are welcomed!

Freaky Friday: A Family Friendly Fall Festival

Bring the whole family out for cirque style entertainment at the Freaky Friday Family Fall Festival!

Join Asheville Aerial Arts at Eliada’s Corn Maze for an evening of circus style entertainment, carnival treats as well as fun activities like: Face Painting, Corn Maze, Face Painting, a Corn Cannon, Hay Rides, Giant Bouncing Pillow, Apple Cider, Hot Chocolate, a Food Truck and more!

Multiple performances will take place throughout the event with a grande exciting finale trapeze performance by Asheville Aerial Arts at 8pm. Corn Maze is open until sunset and the other activities will close at 7:45.

Downtown Day

Come to downtown Spruce Pine for a fun filled day of music, food, cruisin, and fun! Spend a day walking the streets supporting our local merchants and then stay for our first “classic car cruise-in”. Fun begins at 6:00 am with Troutacular and doesn’t stop until you’re too tired to go home.
Scheduled activities include: Troutacular fishing tournament, Sweet Baby James Meet & Greet, BBQ Fundraiser & raffle for Herman Buchanan of Not Bob’s Antiques, live music from Toe River Drifters, Jerry, Mike,&Bill, & Sugardaddy, face painting, corn hole, cotton candy, snowcones and more! Classic car cruising begins at 5:00 and lasts til 9:00. Shops open late with special sales, raffles, food and giveaways! There’s something for everyone. We cant wait to see you downtown! Fatal Four Way: Four Micro superstars enter the squared circle and stand tiny toe to tiny toe against one another in the main event! The belt is on the line and only one Micro wrestler will leave as champion.

Following the show: Fans can stick around and socialize and get autographs with the Micro cast members!

Odyssey Community School Student Reading

Join us for a night of fantasy and science fiction written by students at the Odyssey School in Montford. Our middle school authors will be reading excerpts from original short stories inspired by the fiction of Ursula K. LeGuin, Peter Dickinson, Isabel Allende, and Ray Bradbury, among others.
