Knot tying is an essential skill for the outdoors. Join us for a hand-on clinic in which you’ll learn basic useful knots for camping, outdoor sports, and everyday use.

We’re hitting the water of Lake Julian Park the fourth Friday every month through August. Unwind at the end of the work week and learn how much fun it is to get on the water. Other dates include June 22, July 27, and August 24.
If you’ve wanted to start your kayak adventures, but aren’t sure of where to begin, this is a perfect starting point. Our paddling experts will give about an hour of thorough skills instruction followed by a paddle around the lake.
Advance registration is required. $10 covers your kayak rental, PFD (personal floatation device/life jacket), paddle, and instruction. Want to spend more time in your kayak? For another $10, you can keep the rental for another 24 hours. If you are interested in a particular kayak model, please call (828) 684-6262 or stop by our store on 1378 Hendersonville Road to reserve a specific kayak.

The much-anticipated Swannanoa Community Yard Sale is set to return on Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m.–1 p.m. The twice-yearly sale, sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS), draws huge crowds of enthusiastic sellers and shoppers to the Swannanoa Ingles parking lot, 2299 U.S. Highway 70.
If your closets and garages are overflowing with treasures you no longer need, now is the time to reserve your seller space by sending an email to SwannanoaYardSale@gmail.com or calling 828-515-1840. Spaces are $15 each if paid in advance, and $20 on the day of the sale, with a two-space limit for each reservation. Please bring your own tables.
