The Library Rocks! with Professor Whizzpop’s 2018 Summer Reading Program; the Musical Magical Tour. A brand new program designed to get your Summer Reading crowd rocking out to books! In this amazing musical medley of mashed up magic you’ll be introduced to the latest in musical technology, we will “Rock in our School Shoes” with Pete the Cat and even play the world’s most popular tune LIVE with the Seals on the Bus. This hilarious mix tape of magic, music, and books will be the high note of your summer!

Join us at the Canton Branch for a high energy music and movement storytime including fun scarves, shaker eggs, rhythm sticks, and the parachute. Additional fun includes bubbles and sidewalk chalk, healthy refreshments, a free book for each child in attendance, sign-ups for Summer Reading at the public library, and sign-ups for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Crooning Critters presented by Balsam Mountain Trust and their live animal ambassadors to explore the world of animal squeaks, squawks, and howls. We’ll explore how and why animlas make their music and then try out a few screeches and squeals of our own. This is a ticketed program. June 2nd 4:00pm-10:00pm – 2018 Carnival for a Cure with Relay For Life of Buncombe County, NC at A. C. Reynolds Middle School. “Inflatables! Games! Lots of food! Entertainment throughout! Plus special survivor laps and luminary ceremony. Teams have been working all year to fundraise for Relay. This is the big event that finishes off the season. The community comes out and each team has a tent with food or activities. The entertainment is FREE, but there will be a charge for inflatables and food.”
