Hike of the Week: Exploring the Mountains-to-Sea Trail
Join Parkway rangers at 10:00 am on Friday, July 20th for a moderate, 2.4 mile round trip hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail north of Mount Pisgah. On this interesting stretch of trail we’ll see a rare tree species, walk over a Parkway tunnel, and learn firsthand why this section is also called the Shut-In Trail.
Meet at the Stony Bald Overlook at Milepost 402.6. Bring water, wear good walking shoes, and be prepared for changeable weather.

Base Camp on the Go -Mini Camp
Free mini camp! Free fun and games! Free fun! Join us for a free mini camp for grades first through seventh grade. We will have fun and games for everyone like logrolling, Zorba Balls, obstacle courses, lawn bowling, and much more. this event will take place at our Bilo pavilion area from 10 AM to noon. We have partnered with Haywood healthcare to bring fun and games to our young people. Help us by sharing this event. Parents, you can get your children involved by coming and signing our registration form at the event.

The Literacy Café could be rolling through your neck of the woods ready to serve bodies and minds to McDowell County children.
