2nd Annual Community Garden Network Celebration Dinner
Join us for our second annual Community Garden Network Celebration Dinner! The event will feature the delicious fare of Chef Gene Ettison, with ingredients sourced from local community gardens, adult beverages, live music by Miles Boone, spoken word by Siyah, door prizes, children’s activities, a 50/50 raffle, and more!
This year’s celebration will take place at the beautiful Pearson Community Garden, located in the Montford neighborhood. Parking and seating are limited, so get your ticket early!
The annual Community Garden Network Celebration Dinner is a benefit event to raise funds for Bountiful Cities’ Asheville Buncombe Community Garden Network, a free member network providing comprehensive support and resources to over three dozen local community gardens. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and $10 for children aged 4-16. Children 3 and under get in free. Sliding scale and scholarship tickets are available, with priority distribution to Community Garden Network gardeners.

Youth Outdoor Adventures
Program themes varies and highlight a variety of ways for kids to get active outdoors in the Asheville area. Most programs are offered at the beginner level and require no prior experience to join the fun.
Young Paddler: Kayak Lake Exploration
Saturday, September 8, 9am-1pm
Ages 11-14
An instructor will teach kids basic paddle skills as we paddle and explore an area lake. This is a hands-on program that takes place entirely outside. Dress for the weather and pack a full change of clothes. Pre-registration required.

The rink is getting a NEW SKATE FLOOR! We always do a freshen up in September but this will be our biggest remodel yet! NEW Skate Floor, new games, new lights, new paint, NEW FLOOR, new carpet, new signage and more! Did I mention a NEW WOOD SKATE FLOOR!? !
Smoky Mountain Sk8way & FUN ZONE will close and once reopened we’re throwing a HUGE So Fresh Skate Party with DJ Don, door prizes, dancing, and all your favorite rink rats and rink shenanigans. Maybe even a few new ones. 🙂

WNC Fermentation Festival
This event is FREE to attend and creates a space for all of WNC and surrounding communities to join together in honor of fermentation, food preservation, farming and food resiliency in WNC. All profits & proceeds from the festival and raffle will be donated to the Beacon of Hope Food Bank of Marshall, NC. There will be FREE demos on food preservation & fermentation, family friendly activities and of course local and regional fermenters, foodies and crafting vendors ranging from local farms to local potters, fermenters, crafters and much more! Night Circus: Young Voices 2018!
Young Voices 2018 is here!
September 13 from 7-10 pm at Isis Music Hall.
Young Voices is Youth Outright, WNC’s annual fundraising Gala Extravaganza. Check out our silent auction of themed baskets from local businesses and artists as well as take in the artistic talents of the youth in our community in a fun, multimedia format!
We’re inviting you in to be a part of the celebration!
This year’s theme is Night Circus! This is a catered event with aerial performances by Uncle Kurtis, The Last Wordbenders, Aerial performances by Empyrean Arts (featuring YO youth!), DJs, youth spoken word, youth visual art, and our illustrious hostess, Miss Midwest Comedy Queen Ida Carolina!!!
This is also your opportunity to get a little special treatment! Join us on the balcony for the VIP experience! A separate, roped off catered area with a perfect view for the show! Hosted by Asheville’s very own Beer City Sisters!

Music at the Mill: Bluegrass & BBQ
It’s time for the 13th annual Music at the Mill at the 130 year old Francis Grist Mill. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy live bluegrass music.
Festivities will include crafts, Momma Moody’s Fried Pies, and Milling demonstrations. BBQ provied by Friends of the Francis Grist Mill. The mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013!
