Black Mountain Salutes 2022 Veterans Day Parade
Western North Carolina Veterans Day Parade
Black Mountain will host the 3rd annual Western North Carolina Veterans Day Parade at 2:00PM on Friday, 11 November 2022. This is the only Veterans Day parade in Western North Carolina.
This is an opportunity for our Western North Carolina community to enjoy Veterans Day and support the many veterans who call this their home.
This year the Grand Marshall of the parade is a WWII veteran, Mr. Art Lindsay.
This year, the parade features veterans from across the region and groups such as Owen/Reynolds High school Junior ROTC, Owen High School Marching Band, Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Club, Paws and Effects, local Boy/Girl Scout Troops, and several dignitaries. The parade will have several restored Military vehicles and some current military vehicles. This year we have veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan. There are also additional participants from veterans of emergency services, bagpipes, and Riding on Faith Equestrian group, and much more.
Since the beginning of our nation, our citizens left their homes in the defense of our country. The men and women who made this commitment gave a part of themselves to protect and defend their families, communities, and their nation. Whether they served at home or abroad, for a few years or an entire career, these are the people who made a difference. These are our neighbors, friends, and family.
This year, the parade will make its way through downtown Black Mountain starting at 2:00PM. The parade starts on East State Street next to Black Mountain Primary School and ends at N Dougherty at Black Mountain Library.
