Come join us for a kid-friendly lights on version of our 1st Annual Haunted House at Carol Belk Theatre. We will take you behind the scenes of the process and acting that goes into a haunted house and allow kids and curious folks to ask questions and learn first hand. Then join us for the real thing later in the evening!
All proceeds to to the UNCA Drama Department’s USITT Chapter to fund our trip to the Annual Technical Theatre Conference.

CompostNow, Asheville GreenWorks, & New Belgium Brewing are teaming up again to fight scary Halloween food waste!
Most of the 1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins produced in the U.S. end up in the landfill. Those nutrients are too precious to waste which is why we’re hosting our 2nd annual community event “Smash Don’t Trash” on Sunday, November 3rd from 12-4pm.
Community members are encouraged to bring their old pumpkins to be composted rather than landfilled. The event will host pumpkin smashing stations, kid-friendly activities, and music on the spacious lawn at New Belgium Brewing Company. There will be delicious beer available for purchase.
All compostables will be processed by Danny’s Dumpster, a family-owned hauling and processing business in Asheville. All compost created from “Smash Don’t Trash” will be shared with Sand Hill Community Garden and Asheville GreenWork’s SandHill Orchard and Nursery.
All are welcome! Join us for a smashing good time!
Nitty Gritty Details: We cannot accept any pumpkins with candles, aluminum foil, or other non-compostable decorations inside them. We cannot accept any painted or be-dazzled pumpkins (unless you remove it first!). Parents are required to stay with their children while they participate.

With so many connections to the local vendor scene, we have decided to host a special Holiday Market this year to get all of your gift buying accomplished in one place.
– Want to try out our CSA with no commitment? We’ll have sample bags for sale, come save 10%! Great opportunity to stock up your freezer before your Holiday guests arrive.
– We’ll be hosting local crafters, artisans, makers and food-smiths to build your gift baskets, get holiday supplies and support your local folk.
Plus, there will be a bonfire, s’mores, hot drinks, frosty beverages, hot and cold samples and more!
This is a FREE event, just come prepared to shop and have fun!
Y’all are invited to the arts and crafts fair at Ox Creek Community Center. Local artisans and craftsmen will offer their goods for sale. Come and support your friends and neighbors. Come by the store to get a free comic book and superhero card with some candy on Halloween. We will be doing a best costume contest from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Winner gets a $20.00 gift certificate. You don’t have to be present to win. I will take pictures and names with phone numbers to announce the winner. So be creative and have a safe fun time trick and treating.
Bring the kids for an after school Trick or Treat at the WNC Farmers Market. All costumed kids receive a fresh NC apple and other surprises. Stores will have folks dressed in costume. Come and join us for this Halloween celebration!
