2019 is off to a great start and the First day of Spring is already here – March 20! As we say good bye to winter and get ready to welcome the spring, this is a great time to get involved with the church. We have lots of love to share and can’t wait to meet you.
On March 17, we’re having family and friends day and would love to spend some time with you. Now, this is not your typical church service. We’re going to have great food, fun, and fellowship. Our game room will be open with video games for the youth. The Peace Room computer lab will be open for people to work on math and reading – or learn a second language. Small groups for youth, seniors, couples, single-mothers, and entrepreneurs will be highlighted. And the grills will be smoking.
Come join the fun and lets bring in the spring together at New Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Sunday March 17 at 11am

The Free Child: Exploring Unschooling, Liberation, and SDE (childcare provided)
Are you feeling alone in your unschooling/self-directed education choice? Having hesitations about making the decision to switch, or worried if it’s really the right thing to do? Not sure how to explain it to your extended family? Or maybe you’re celebrating the wonders that come with your kids being empowered and in control of their own lives? Or you’re wanting to connect with other local unschoolers?
We’re creating this event to bring together our unschooling/SDE community, and support families who are pioneering this evidence-based paradigm of education. We’ll have a panel of SDE educators, as well as experienced unschooling families to answer questions and provide emotional support. We’ll deepen our connections with each other and plan future events together. We’re providing free childcare for kids 3+. Younger kids can be with you in the meeting as long as they’re not disruptive to the flow of the conversation. We intend for this event to be a safe place for people of color and all other minority groups. So looking forward to this gathering! -Justina, Keli, Hany
