Meet Cookie Mouse!
If a hungry little mouse shows up in your bookstore, you might want to give him a cookie. And if you give him a cookie, he’ll ask for a glass of milk. He’ll want to look in a mirror to make sure he doesn’t have a milk mustache, and then he’ll ask for a pair of scissors to give himself a trim…
Mouse will be joining us in store for all kinds of fun and adventure! Join us April 20th at 10AM for a very special story time featuring our favorite Mouse and some of his very favorite stories!
This event is free and open to all ages! We’ll have crafts and coloring after the stories. We hope you’ll join us!

Guided Walking Tour
LOW IMPACT (11:00am-12:00pm) … This tour stays centrally focused around the farm store, visits with the baby animals, and provides an in-depth history of the farm and family. This tour is great for limited mobility guests, those with young children, and anyone who is interested in the historical side of HNG.
HIGH IMPACT (1:00pm-2:00pm) … This tour goes exploring through our 80 acres of working farmland. Head to the top of UFO hill for a spectacular view, walk alongside the creek through forest, see the grazing animals on pasture, and learn about regenerative agriculture. You will get an overview of our farm history but a more in-depth look at our farming practices. We will be traversing over rough terrain, so suitable hiking attire is suggested.

Epic Dance Showcase
With over 30 years of dance convention and competition experience, EDS has integrated the positive aspects of both, and eliminated the unfavorable. We strive to present a fun, friendly atmosphere with fair results! Using a system that acknowledges studio size, you are guaranteed to compete on a “level playing field”. You will be categorized in a division with studios of comparable size, much like the divisions in college sports. Finally, the stress of competing against studios much larger or smaller than yours is removed! In addition to our 3 levels of competition, we will have 2 divisions of overall awards!!! With cash prizes, scholarships, fun games, and more, we’re sure your “Epic” experience will be one you will want to relive each year!

FBN Productions Opera Production for Kids
Please join us for an FBN Productions, Inc. performance of The Three Little Pigs on Monday, April 15, at 2 pm at the Asheville JCC! FBN Productions, Inc. has been bringing operatic performance to children since 1994. The mission of FBN Productions is to promote music-drama as a synthesis of all disciplines of the human experience, for everyone from school children to senior citizens.
Every year, FBN’s touring program brings the joys of operatic storytelling to children of all ages.
FBN’s production of The Three Little Pigs is a fun, operatic version of the story based on scenes from operas by W.A. Mozart.
While brother pigs Don Giovanni and Cherubino set off to make homes of sticks and straw, their sister, Despina, goes to the library to read up on “huff-proof, puff-proof” home construction. After Wolfgang Bigbad blows down the boys’ flimsy homes, they run to their sister’s sturdy new brick house quite ready to admit that going to the library and reading books is a pretty smart thing to do after all! “If you fear a thing that’s scary, just take your questions to the library”!
This performance is open to the public, and tickets are free for up to two children accompanying a paying adult ($25) and $10 for each additional child. Tickets can be purchased by emailing belle@jcc-asheville.org.
