ACA Spring Fling!

Join us for ACA’s Spring Fling! A free evening of fun for all ages!

There will be two performances of the family friendly puppet show, SLUG AND SNAIL (4 p.m. and 5:30) brought to us by the brilliant Edwin Salas Acosta.

There will be FREE pizza from the outdoor pizza oven and a raffle!

Water, sparkling water, and beer will be provided for purchase.

Many thanks to Burton Street Community Peace Gardens (run by our favorites, DeWayne Barton and Safi Mahaba) for hosting this community event.

Community Block Party

On Friday, May 17th, we will be hosting a Community Block Party at our Mills River office! Ariel Rymer of Star 104.3 will be on site and there will be music, games for all ages, snacks & treats, plus a few local business spotlights. Stop by and kick start your weekend with us! Family Farm Workshop

From 10-11:30 join us for another family farm workshop! We’ll make an egg carton herb garden, cook a tasty snack, and hang out with some friendly farm animals! $10 per family.

Grand Opening Community Gathering!

Come out and join us for the grand opening of Self Ascension Center!! We are a meditation, fitness and alternative health center in Asheville, opening May 14th from 6pm-9pm with classes and services to serve growth to our community! Come join the movement and get a taste for what we offer!
Open mat jiu jitsu, 10 minute FREE Reiki sessions and massage, mini yoga class, guided community meditation session, snacks and fun for the kids!!

Mama Tried: Mother’s Day Music

Celebrate Mother’s Day this year with more than the usual macaroni necklace! UpCountry Brewing is hosting a family friendly free show from 3-7 featuring three of your local country music making mamas: Trisha Tripp, Anya Hinkle and Julia Sanders.

We will also have a pie walk and a raffle with amazing local prizes to help support Helpmate (domestic violence advocacy in Asheville).

Beatles Sunday Funday presented by Salvage Station

Beatles Sunday Funday presented by Salvage Station, featuring an encore performance of The Beatles’ Revolver by The Asheville Beatles, aka an all-star cast of AVL musicians. Beatles Sunday Funday (BSF) also featuring performances by Asheville Music School student bands and ensembles, including King, Masque, AMS Fiddle Squad, and a flute choir. Expect lots of fun games on the lawn, raffles, photo booth, and all sorts of fun all day. All ages!

Suggested donation, $5 and up, accepted at the door. Proceeds benefit Asheville Music School programs.

Ride For Reading

Ride For Reading, presented by Asheville on Bikes and Strive Beyond, links the physical wellness of bike riding and the mental development of early reading. It’s one-part kids book drive, benefiting Asheville Primary School and one part bike-powered delivery ride. Ride For Reading is a national campaign and this is Asheville’s inaugural ride.

DONATE CHILDREN BOOKS TODAY
Now through Monday, May 13 bring new and used early reading books to New Belgium Brewing’s Liquid Center. The drop box is just inside the main doors, on the left. Asheville Primary School students are ages 3-6

DELIVERY RIDE – MAY 13, 3PM
Bring your bike and carrying capacity to New Belgium for a 3-mile round trip ride to Asheville Primary School to deliver the books. We’ll return to the Liquid Center for beverage time.
