Parenting Together
Parenting Together, presented by Carolina Pediatric Therapy, a night for parents to learn about common parenting challenges and take away practical skills to utilize on a daily basis. Our speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nutritionist, and behavioral health therapists will cover a wide range of topics. They will share beneficial information about symptoms, coping skills, and parenting tips. Parents will have the opportunity to learn evidence-based solutions and identify signs and the benefits from therapy services. This event can benefit parents with children of all ages.

Forest Fridays Kids Nature Program
Forest Fridays Nature Program begins June 7th!
This will be a weekly program in June on Friday’s from 9am-12pm.
For the first Friday we will do an intro to singing and herbalism. They will learn vocal warm ups, breathing techniques for singing and a couple songs. They will have an intro to herbalism by learning about several plants for medicine. And LOTS of fun time exploring in nature.
* Drop off your kids with Deanna Rose at Bent Creek( right next to the Arboretum off Brevard Rd. I will give you all more details soon about the exact drop off location within Bent Creek.
Parents are welcome to stay if they want!
Cost for 3 hrs: $30 per kid for one class ( this is a great deal because I normally charge $20-$25 an hour for childcare)

Deanna Rose was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Surrounded by music, she grew up in choirs and took singing lessons on music row. She is a graduate from Warren Wilson College with a Degree in Gender & Women’s Studies and Anthropology. She also is a Certified Holistic Herbalist from the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine. Deanna Rose has been doing childcare on and off for 15 years. She teaches singing classes with kids, herbalism and gardening. She loves getting children to enjoy nature through singing, education, movement , art and meditation.

Open Wide-A CommUNITY Arts Festival
Open Wide is a CommUNITY Arts Festival. This gathering is being co-created by Community Ambassadors and Artists to bring a showcase of our many many gifts that we want to share with YOU! This event is a FUNdraiser and supports the Foundation of Open Wide, A Community Fund for Preferred Health and Dental Care and all the people who put energy into making it happen! This event is held at Living Arts Foundation, a community art center in Candler, NC. Come check it out!

We will be offering a Daytime line-up featuring a Children’s Costume Dance Party, Sunset Unity Drum Circle, healing arts, workshops, Yoga, vendors, artists, food, beverages, music, and more!

Is an eclectic sound stylist who has been djing for almost 10 years. Her love for music has taken her all over the world. Her favorite spots include The Midem Music Festival in Cannes France and The Owl Tribe tour with Kelley Maize and Mayan Elder Ach Tah. Three Days of Light Festival. She currently resides in Asheville and plays in many local venues there.

Climb Out of the Darkness Asheville 2019
Climb Out of the Darkness® is the world’s largest event raising awareness of pregnancy and postpartum mental health disorders such as postpartum depression (PPD), anxiety, bipolar disorders, OCD and psychosis.
As part of the Climb, survivors, friends, and families around the world climb, hike, or walk together at a local mountain or park to symbolize their collective rise out of the darkness as well as to raise funds for Postpartum Support International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting pregnant and postpartum families around the world.
Everyone is invited to participate. The event is hosted by Perinatal Emotional Health Network of WNC and will be held at Pritchard Park from 10:00am-12:00pm
All the money raised will go to Postpartum Support International’s WNC chapter to continue our work in educating about Perinatal Mental Health.
