“About Folkadelic 3:
Jeff Michels (rhythm guitar, vocals) began songwriting as soon as he strummed his first guitar at age 16 and hasn’t stopped. With influences as diverse as the Beatles, Dylan, David Bowie and Neil Young, Jeff’s brew of socially conscious folk rock originals and cover tunes offer a wide spectrum of listening experiences.
Paired Jim Robertson (percussion, vocals) and Steve Kirkland (electric guitar), Jeff’s music becomes the folkadelic jam.”

Is there a better way to kick off the fall season than with a Fall Fun Festival? Of course not!
There’s just two months left of our 20th Anniversary Year, and we are continuing the celebrations on Saturday, September 7th from 10am – 1pm. Join us for carnival games, cakewalks, giant bubbles, pumpkin painting, roving performers and more – all at the library.
This has been an incredible anniversary year, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do as a library without the support of our incredible community. So mark your calendars, and come have fun with us!
Sponsored by the Friends of Fairview Library.
Swannanoa Valley Montessori School and Pisgah Brewing Company present:
Creekside JamFest
Benefiting the SVMS scholarship program
Featuring: The Larry Keel Experience, Dangermuffin & The Get Right Band
Saturday October 5, 2019 | 4:00 – 10:00
*******************************
Swannanoa Valley Montessori School (SVMS) is excited to bring the Inaugural Creekside JamFest to Pisgah Brewing Company’s outdoor stage. This event will be a day filled with great music featuring the Larry Keel Experience, Dangermuffin and the Get Right Band in addition to fun family-friendly activities to include Mountain Circus Arts, Asheville Hoops, and Asheville Plays. There will be food trucks, refreshments for all ages, and craft vendors on site for all your festival needs!
Every year SVMS raises funds to support our scholarship program because our school is committed to diversity and inclusion in the classroom. SVMS believes a school should be reflective of its community. SVMS strives not to turn away students due to socioeconomic status or different learning styles. Over the last 5 years, SVMS has been able to grant financial assistance to a number of families seeking alternatives to public education. With smaller class sizes, individualized attention, and alternately paced curriculum, SVMS is able to meet their needs and support them as they thrive.
We are teaming up with our friends at Mountain Pet Rescue to help find forever homes for pups in need!
Our neighbors at WAXON Batik and Dye Studio will be offering a DIY tie-dye station where you can make your beloved pet its own tie-dye outfit!

Children under the age of 13 must pass a swim test to swim in the facility. If the child does not pass the swim test, they will be required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life vest and their parent/guardian must be in the water within arm’s reach.

Mornings at the farm is our favorite time. All of the animals in the barnyard are just waking up and you can feel the peace in the air. The horses are always happy to see us and we like to believe that they know it’s not just because we are getting ready to feed them. Guests will get a chance to accompany Belle (the horse girl) and see this first hand as we get the day started at the farm. We will start out by meeting each animal up close and personal and learning each of their stories. From there you will get to feed the animals and learn about everyone’s different feeding plans. We will gather eggs from the chickens and and then get to brush and pick out the horses hooves and learn basic groundwork skills with them. You will get lots of up close and personal time with everyone in the barnyard and learn more about them! Children are more than welcome. Riding lessons can also be offered for anyone who is interested.
(You do not need to be a Canaan Valley Guest to do this experience)
