UNC Asheville’s men’s basketball program announced an exhibition game with Bob Jones University scheduled for 5 p.m., Thursday, October 31 at Kimmel Arena.
Entry into the exhibition game will be FREE for all fans. The Bulldog Athletic Association will not have hospitality at the exhibition, and there will be no reserved parking.
Year Two of the Mike Morrell Era will begin Tuesday, November 5 as the Bulldogs travel to Tennessee for their regular-season opener, with their regular-season home opener scheduled for Saturday, November 16, against Brevard at Kimmel Arena.

Calling all ghoulish runners and zombie walkers! Join Polk County Public Libraries for the first annual family friendly Trick-or-Trot 5k event. The library is partnering with community members and businesses in Polk County to provide a free walk/run road race. Race participants are encouraged to complete the course in costume and gather treats at the candy stops along the route.
Does the idea of running a 5k leave you feeling like you’ve just seen a ghost? Have no fear! A free nine-week training plan is available to all participants and can be obtained from Columbus Library or Saluda Library (or downloaded at https://polklibrary.org/trick-or-trot-5k/).

Join us on Sunday, October 27th from 1-7PM at THE BLOCK off biltmore for this Hemp & Halloween themed party to celebrate the holiday and Harvest season – COSTUMES WELCOME! Kids 3 and under are free, but there will be a sliding scale cover fee per person at the door ($5-$45) that will include entry into contests, appetizers, dinner, activities, and so on listed below. The Carolina Hemp Company Hemp Xpress will be offering drop off and pick up for those without transportation; information regarding available parking will also be shared.
This is an ALL AGES event that will include 2 costume contests, a “Mini Mummy” joint rolling contest, vendors, music, dancing, activities/games, prizes, speakers, a Halloween movie screening, and hemp infused appetizers, dinner, & beverages. We have split the day up into two segments so 1-4PM will be more kids oriented and 4-7PM will be moreso for the adults, but everyone is still welcome at all times regardless if you’re a lil’ nug or big bud😏
Here’s the scoop:
– Starts at 1PM
– Activities such as Pumpkin Painting, make-your-own Caramel Apple (caramel infused with hemp flower extract will be available), etc will be taking place all day.
– Kiddo Costume Contest Signup from 1-2PM (some costume and mask materials will be available for those who wish to participate but do not come dressed up)
– Kiddo Costume Contest Judging at 2PM
– Movie Screening starts around 2:30 (depending on interested age group, kids can vote on either CoCo, Hocus Pocus, or Hotel Transylvania)
– Sign up for Mini Mummy joint rolling contest from 1-4PM
– Sign up for Adult Costume Contest from 1-4:20PM
– MM Contest will start at 4PM
– 4:20 Break out on the sidewalk
– Adult Costume Contest Judging starts at 4:45PM
– Hemp infused dinner will be available from 5-7PM (bring reusable food container if you’d like!)
– Live music starts around 5:15
– Announcements, Legislative Update, and Q&A will close the evening
