Hike of the Week: Exploring the Mountains-to-Sea Trail @ Stony Bald Overlook | Candler | North Carolina | United States

Join Parkway rangers at 10:00 am on Friday, July 20th for a moderate, 2.4 mile round trip hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail north of Mount Pisgah. On this interesting stretch of trail we’ll see a rare tree species, walk over a Parkway tunnel, and learn firsthand why this section is also called the Shut-In Trail.

Meet at the Stony Bald Overlook at Milepost 402.6. Bring water, wear good walking shoes, and be prepared for changeable weather.
