How this all started:
The Sk8way received a very special “Letter to Santa” this weekend from a very special girl named Kayley. Her best friend has recently been moved to the Broyhill Baptist Children’s Homes of N C. Kayley’s Christmas wish is for her friend and the children of Broyhill to have a nice Christmas and to know that they are loved. ♥ We were so touched by her letter that we asked if we could share it.
The Sk8way along with help from this community would like to try and make her Christmas wish come true. Please help us in showing these displaced children they are loved, wanted and supported by many. You know what they say, “it takes a village.”
The Sk8way has scheduled a date with Broyhill for their residents to come enjoy a fun Holiday Party with cookies, hot cocoa, making Christmas ornaments, meet with Santa and hopefully a present or two. We are asking for the community’s support and help in this effort.
On Monday, December 17th from 6 -8 pm the public is invited to come skate and enjoy the festivities in exchange for an age appropriate gift for a Broyhill child.
