Asheville Lyric Opera is pleased to announce our original production of Béatrice et Bénédict at the Diana Wortham Theatre on July 6 (8 PM) and July 8 (3 PM). Overheard confessions, unfortunate reactions, tender reconciliations, and plenty of witty banter glide on a warm breeze of masterful orchestration. In this novel adaptation of Shakespeare’s lively comedy Much Ado About Nothing, Berlioz’s exuberant opera score is paired with English text lifted directly from the Bard himself.
