Asheville Forest School Summer Camp (3-8yrs)
Each week of summer camp will be 5 days of mixed-age play-based connection education and exploration for children ages 3-8, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We will meet on school land just off of Town Mountain (10 minutes from the Charlotte St exit off I-240) and possibly another location as well.
We will sing songs, tell stories, move our bodies, develop relationships with local plants and animals, cultivate silence and awareness, forage for edible foods, create art, work with simple tools, and learn how to relate to each other and our living world with respect and kindness.
Our days are structured in a daily rhythm of in-breath (quieter, fine-motor movement) and out-breath (gross motor movement, plenty of free play.) The daily and weekly rhythms (activities and locations) will be consistent across each week offered. Within the consistent framework, each week will be different in subtle ways based on variations such as which flora are in bloom.
Registration will be capped at 12 campers per week
