Franklin’s Annual Independence Day Celebration begins with our annual 4th of July Parade at 10:00am. While you go most places to see a parade, we actually invite you to participate! Deck out in red, white and blue and walk or drive down Main Street. NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. To join in, just be in the lower level of Franklin Town Hall for lineup beginning at 9:30 am. The route will take the parade down Main Street to Entegra Bank to disband.
Following the parade the Town has several great contests planned including Little Mr. & Miss Firecracker Contest at 10:30am. This contest is open to ages 3 to 6 and is judged on patriotic costume and one question. No registration is required.
The Patriotic Pet Contest follows at 11:00am. Deck your pets out in red, white, and blue for this fun contest!
Other events include an all new & FREE Kids Zone with inflatables featuring a water slide. Be sure your young ones are dressed appropriately for this attration. You can enjoy Free Watermelon & Popcorn (as long as it lasts).
Activities conclude at 12 Noon and this event is held rain or shine!
Many of our Downtown Merchants & Restaurants will be open so be sure to check out the many unique shopping opportunities and eateries Franklin, NC has to offer.
Following the Town of Franklin’s activities, travel to the Macon County Recreation Park (south of Franklin on U.S. 441) and join the Franklin Chamber of Commerce for their annnual fun day and fireworks display.
