2024 One Act Festival!

Our student playwrights have written some surreal, moving and hilarious scripts for our 2024 One Act Festival, and our student cast and crew members are standing by to bring them to life on the stage.

• Lucia Hess directs Hunter Miyan’s “Cinderemma,” a twist on the classic fairytale with an infusion of pop culture.
   
• Josiah Germer directs a cerebral journey through time, space, and the family dinner table in Kayla Cody’s “Impossible.”
   
• Eska Garrison directs Kayla Cody’s sweet, silly and somewhat Shakespearean “A Midsummer’s Doughnut.”
   
• Graham Esmon directs Xavier Hursty’s “A Penguin Story,” a surreal, sinister, slapstick bedtime tale.
   
• Niya Hromada directs Dashiell Gray’s “Strong Convictions,” an intimate portrait of a young poet exploring the meaning of her own work in a searing conversation with a close friend.

The Montford Moppets Youth Shakespeare Company provides youths age 10 to 17 with opportunities to foster creativity and accountability through participation in classical theatre. We strive to create innovative performances and educational experiences that connect area youth with each other and the wider community. We are committed to providing a safe space and equal access to WNC youths of all backgrounds and abilities.
