112th Labor Day At The Canton Area Historical Museum

Friends of the museum would like to invite the public to join us on Labor Day Monday September 3rd from 9am to 5pm at the Canton Area Historical Museum. Rain or shine the museum will be open, free to the public.
Located at 36 Park Street beside Canton Town Hall in the former old library building.
Weather permitting we will have three vintage vehicles parked in front of the museum. One being the town own 40’s model fire truck, 56 chevy military car, 40’s Willys Jeep.
Outside on the lawn we will have tables set up displaying vintage medical and fire equipment to help commemorate the 60th year anniversary of the Haywood County Rescue Squad. We will also have some military memorabilia on display.
Carroll Jones will be in person with his new book titled “Mr. Thomson’s Pulp Mill” which will be available to purchase as well signing copies of his book.
Inside the museum, Caroline Ponton (museum curator) will be available to assist with any questions of the numerous displays, including our newest addition, the 1946 bomber wheel.. The museum is full of scrapbooks, old photos, newspapers, maps, military uniforms etc…
